Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) was originally founded in 1944 as "Personnel and Industrial Relations Association (PIRA)" by a small group of Los Angeles personnel administrators. Now, PIHRA has grown to serve seventeen professional chapters, nine student chapters and three specialty groups. PIHRA has a dedicated staff and is headquartered in Gardena, CA.

Student Membership Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student in an accredited college or university.
- Enrolled in a minimum of 8 units under the quarter system, or 6 units at an under the semester system.
- Academic course work must have a Human Resources emphasis or be closely related.
- Unemployed or working 20 hours or less per week, not receiving benefits.
- Proof of Eligibility:
- Submit Current class schedule to [email protected].
- Signed Faculty approval form to [email protected].
- Payment of $35 for Student Membership.

Applying for a PIHRA Student Membership
Although professional memberships typically cost $175 for 12 months, students only have to pay $35 for the same deal!
In order to obtain a PIHRA student membership:
After you submitted your completed application, you will obtain your student membership account information from PIHRA Central by e-mail ([email protected]). According to PIHRA's membership policy, membership is non-transferable, non-refundable, and valid for one year from the date of its creation. If you would like to renew your student membership, you are required to go through the application process again.

- Click "Student Member" on the right side of the page
- Create an account and follow the instructions to pay and complete the membership application
